Burglary Investigated
At 7:20 a.m. Monday, February 28, Forest Grove Police Department responded to a burglary at Grampy’s Deli, located at 1918 Main Street.
The investigation revealed that the suspect or suspects entered by removing a window from the front of the building, which houses both Grampy’s Deli and a vacant store. Once inside the suspect(s) removed another window, allowing access to the vacant store. The suspect(s) gained access to Grampy’s Deli by utilizing a splitting maul to make a hole through an adjoining wall. The alarm system was disabled by the suspect(s) at 5:52 a.m. The suspect(s) removed cash from a video poker machine, and also forced entry into an office area and removed lottery tickets.
This burglary is similar to one which was reported on January 7th at Jordy’s Deli, located at 2104 Main Street. A window was removed to gain access in that burglary also. Anyone with information on either burglary is asked to contact the Forest Grove Police Department at 503 992-3260.
