Police Hosts Citizen's Academy 2011
The Forest Grove Police Department will be hosting a Citizen’s Academy scheduled to begin on Wednesday, February 16, and conclude on Wednesday, April 13, 2011. The Academy will not be held during the week of Spring Break on March 23rd.
The Academy will be held at the Forest Grove Community Auditorium located at 1915 Main Street in Forest Grove. Academy sessions will be held every Wednesday from 6:00pm to 9:00pm.
The Academy course content is scheduled to include sessions on patrol procedures, criminal investigations, forensics, and other aspects of law enforcement.
Individuals interested in attending the Academy must meet the following eligibility criteria:
- Resident of the City of Forest Grove, or regularly employed with the City of Forest Grove.
- At least 18 years old. (Exceptions may be made for Forest Grove High School students for senior projects)
- No felony criminal convictions
- No more than one misdemeanor criminal conviction (the nature of the criminal conviction will be considered when making an eligibility decision).
The Academy is limited to 25 seats and applications are due to the Forest Grove Police Department by 5:00 pm on Wednesday, January 19, 2011. Applications can be picked up at the Forest Grove Police Station or online at the City of Forest Grove website under the police section.
