Proposed Budget Available for Review
Michael Sykes, City Manager and Budget Officer for the City of Forest Grove, has distributed the FY 2010-11 Proposed Budget to the Budget Committee. The document is available for public review at City Hall, 1924 Council Street, or at the City Library, 2114 Pacific Avenue, between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. The budget is also posted on the City's website under Finance Department.
The Budget Committee will hold public meetings on May 20 and May 26, 2010, at 7 p.m. The purpose of the meeting is to receive the budget message, review the document, and receive comment from the public on the budget.
The City Manager's Budget Message begins as follows:
"It is my pleasure to submit a balanced budget for FY 2010-11 to the City of
The FY 2010-11 Proposed Budget is strategically aimed towards preserving existing services over the next several fiscal years while meeting the City’s primary goals and action items. The City Council’s goal of preserving current services in the current economy while maintaining adequate reserves for future years was again the focal point of this proposed budget."
