Theft of Utility Bill Payments
The utility payment drop box located on Council Street in front of City Hall was broken into over the weekend. All of the payments inside of the box were stolen. The theft occurred between 4:00 pm Friday, December 11, and Monday, December 14, 2009, at 8:00 am.
The City of Forest Grove is concerned for the privacy and security of those customers who had placed payments into the box. Customers who wrote a check and placed it in the drop box are advised to contact their bank and the Forest Grove Police Department immediately.
Customers whose payments were stolen will need to make another payment to the City. Utility customers can check their utility accounts online at http://www.forestgrove-or.gov, or by calling 503.992.3221.
The box is also occasionally used by citizens paying fines, including parking tickets. Court customers are advised to check with the Municipal Court at 503.992.3268.
