Comp Plan Update: Current Plan
Forest Grove residents and city staff worked from 1975 to 1979 to develop the current comprehensive plan. The plan was adopted by the City Council on September 9, 1980. To learn more about the public involvement on this plan, please click here.
The plan was updated in 1985 and looked 20 years forward to 2005. The City's population was expected to almost double from 11,499 to 20,272. Actually, it is estimated that Forest Grove's population passed the 20,000 mark in June, 2007.
The plan has two sections - Section 1: Data & Background and Section 2: Goals & Policies. The chapters were designed to match up between the sections. Section 1 has Chapter 1 (Introduction), Chapter 2 (The Planning Process) and Chapter 4 (Background) however these chapters are not part of Section 2 because they don't need specific goals and policies.
