Welcome to Forest Grove!
Stroll through Historic Downtown with its specialty shops and restaurants and past the adjacent campus of Pacific University, and you get the sense that this is a special place. It’s easy to see that we’ve protected our original historic charm and small town friendliness. This extends to the preservation of our abundant groves of trees and designation as a "Tree City USA" community.
Since its founding by Oregon Trail pioneers in 1841, innovation, creativity, and entrepreneurialism have inspired great things to happen in Forest Grove. We founded the first university west of the Mississippi, planted the first vineyard of Willamette Valley's famous pinot noir grapes, and today attract optimistic families, creative artists, entrepreneurs, academics and students.
We are surrounded by rich farmland and award-winning wineries, and within the city you will find high tech, educational, timber, agricultural and service industries taking advantage of our progressive community, skilled workforce, and enviable lifestyle.
