Police Department: National Night Out Print E-mail

The Forest Grove Police Department hosted its 2nd Annual National Night Out at Lincoln Park on the evening of August 4th

The event was attended by over 1,000 people this year – a resounding success. The success could not have been achieved without the exceptional support of our fellow city employees.

Forest Grove Light & Power provided rides in a bucket-truck – a big hit with the children who attended our event.

The Forest Grove Library brought books about various services the city provides – a great opportunity to promote reading and all the services we provide.

Forest Grove Fire & Rescue stopped by with Truck 4, Rescue 4, and one of their new engines!

A huge thanks to Tom Gamble for helping coordinate an outstanding location – Lincoln Park and the Aquatic Center staff, who also provided a table at the event. Several folks from City Hall helped as well – face painting was a hit with the children (and a few adults).

We had tremendous volunteer support from so many community members and graduates of our Citizen’s Academy from earlier this year. Families enjoyed a skateboarding exhibition, some great food, and live music. We’re already looking forward to next year’s event!
