Five Candidates Qualify for City Council Election Print E-mail

The following candidates have qualified according to the City Charter and Ordinances of the City of Forest Grove for a position on the City Council. On November 4, 2008, the citizens of Forest Grove will vote to fill three Council positions (Councilors Victoria Lowe, Peter Truax, and Elena Uhing are eligible for re-election).  The positions are elected from the City at-large and the candidates receiving the highest number of votes are elected.

 

Doug Davis resides on Laurel Street, Forest Grove, and listed his occupation as a stay at home dad; occupational background, warehouse worker and caregiver; educational background, Banks High School; and listed no prior governmental experience.

 

Aldie Howard resides on 16th Avenue, Forest Grove, and listed his occupation as a Land Use Consultant; occupational background, interim City Administrator and City Planning Director; educational background, Pacific University, BS, and Portland State University, MA; and listed various prior governmental experiences, including City Council, Forest Grove.

 

Victoria Lowe resides on 17th Place, Forest Grove, and listed her occupation as a retired Purchasing Manager; occupational background, high-tech manufacturing Purchasing Agent; educational background, Corvallis High School; and listed various prior governmental experiences, including City Council, Forest Grove.

 

Peter Truax resides on Forest Gale Drive, Forest Grove, and listed his occupation as a retired Forest Grove High School Teacher; occupational background, English Teacher; educational background, Pacific University, BS and MST, and Lewis and Clark College, ME; and listed various prior governmental experiences, including City Council, Forest Grove.

 

Elena Uhing resides on Pacific Avenue, Forest Grove, and listed her occupation as a Grant Writer; occupational background, Grant Writer, Government Certification Coordinator, and Operations Analyst; educational background, Portland State University, BS; and listed various prior governmental experiences, including City Council, Forest Grove.
