Monday Night Accident Causes Outages
At 11:57 PM on Monday, 11/26, City Light & Power crews were notified of an area of multiple outages and of an accident where a car hit a pole at 45781 NW David Hill Road. This affected approximately 1400 customers in the northwest corner of the city and the rural area north and west of town.
All the City electrical systems performed properly and disconnected the main line at the Thatcher Substation due to the lines and pole down at that address. Our crews were able to isolate the damaged area and return service to almost all customers at 01:27 AM on Tuesday, 11/27. Due to the area of damage we were not able to get the remaining customers along the 45000 & 46000 blocks of David Hill Road back in service until the repairs were made. This affected approximately 25 customers who stayed out of service until approximately 06:00 AM this morning.
Our L&P customers may still be experiencing service outages from Frontier and Comcast due to the damages they incurred during the accident. Their crews are onsite making repairs to their facilities.
