The City of Forest Grove is proposing the adoption of a new Land Development Ordinance that will replace the existing Zoning and Land Division ordinances.  In addition, a set of design guidelines is also proposed to provide an alternative process for multi-family and commercial projects.  The intent of the new code is generally to readopt the existing provisions in a more useable format without new substantive changes in process or requirements.  However, the amendments will create some changes.  Part of those changes will eliminate two existing comprehensive plan designations and zone districts.

On August 18, 2008, the Forest Grove Planning Commission will hold a public hearing regarding the adoption of Comprehensive Plan Amendment CPA-08-01, Zone Text Amendment ZA-08-01, Zoning Map Amendment ZC-08-01, Land Division Ordinance Amendment LDO-08-03 and Municipal Code Amendment to define various boards and commissions.  The hearing will be held at the Community Auditorium, 1915 Main Street, Forest Grove Oregon.  The hearing will begin at 7:00 p.m.

The City of Forest Grove has determined that adoption of these amendments may affect the permissible uses of some properties in the affected zone, and may change the value of these properties.  The proposed amendments and the design guidelines are available for inspection at the Forest Grove Community Development Department located at 1924 Council Street, Forest Grove or on the City’s website at http://www.forestgrove-or.gov/city-services/community-development-planning-zoning-information.html.  A copy of the amendments also is available for purchase at a cost of $6.00.
