Parks Remain Closed As Cleanup Continues
Park properties sustained significant tree damage after the snow fall on Wednesday morning. Crew from parks, publics works and light and power have teamed together to remove tree limbs from streets and right-of-ways throughout the City. Park Crews will work over the weekend to remove large limbs from Joseph Gale park and Forest Glen Park. Tree and limb damage occurred in every park property. Staff expects final clean up to take several weeks. Currently the focus is on dangerous “hangers” and protecting park users. Staff has closed Rogers and Joseph Gale parks until the property can be made safe. This could occur over the weekend, but until the work is finished, that area of the park will remain closed.
