Power Outage Darkens West Edge of City
The west side of Forest Grove was in the dark Wednesday evening, August 31, for a couple of hours.
The outage was due to a 7000 volt underground line that failed at the corner of Buxton Street and Ballad Way at approximately 8:14 pm on Wednesday, August 31st. This faulted cable relayed the circuit breaker at the substation at the corner of Gales Creek Road and Thatcher Road which in turn deenergized the customers west of the substation. The extended length of the outage and the repeated testing was due to the difficulty in locating the source of trouble. We regret the inconvenience this caused to our customers. This Ballad Towne subdivision where the cable faulted is scheduled for cable replacement on the upcoming maintenance schedule.
