Safety Vests Available
The Daybreak Rotary Club of Forest Grove in conjunction with Rotary District 5100 has increased the supply of traffic safety vests available to pedestrians and bicyclists in Forest Grove. This program began in March of 2010, and has been very successful. The vests are distributed by the Forest Grove Police Department.
This program began when members of the club became concerned over the number of citizens observed walking during the hours of darkness, and who were not easily visible to drivers. As a public service they obtained funds to supply free safety vests for use by citizens of Forest Grove.
The vests may be obtained by any citizen of Forest Grove, at no cost, by contacting a Community Service Officer at 503 992-3108. The vests are meant only for pedestrians or bicyclists who wish to improve their safety by being more visible to traffic.
