On December 20, 2012, Detectives with the Forest Grove Police Department, Tigard Police Department and Salem Police Department arrested 33-year old Daniel Serna of Salem in the 4200 block of Oriole Court NE in Salem.  Serna was lodged at the Marion County Jail on an arrest warrant for one count of Murder and one count of Tampering with a Witness.

The arrest of Serna was the result of a continuing investigation by the Forest Grove Police Department and the Washington County Major Crimes team into the murder of Luis Guzman on November 14, 2011, in the 2200 block of "B" Street in Forest Grove.  Police responded to the scene after 10 pm on that evening with reports of shots fired and a man down.  Officers arrived to find Guzman deceased.

On March 22, 2012, police arrested 19-year old Niaz Mohammed Khoshnaw of Beaverton in the murder of Guzman.  The possible motive and the role that each suspect is believed to have played in the murder is not being released as the investigation is continuing.  No additional information is available at this time.  More arrests are possible.
