img_5410.jpgForest Grove Police Officers Tom Siciliano and Matt Jacobsen volunteered their time to award medals to Special Olympics athletes at a golf tournament held at Quail Valley Golf Course on June 5th. Special Olympics Oregon frequently partners with law enforcement agencies in their events. Officers volunteer their time to assist in a variety of ways, including assisting in fund raising events, officiating games and awarding medals.

img_5418.jpgThe mission of Special Olympics Oregon is to provide year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities, giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy, and participate in a sharing of gifts, skills, and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes, and the community. Special Olympics Oregon serves close to 7,000 participants throughout the state.
