Utility Billing Online Payments FREE
Looking for a convenient, no-cost way to pay your Utility Bill?
In July of 2009, the City went live with Utility Billing on-line. A transaction fee of $1.25 was charged, in order to keep the website secure. The City Council has decided to absorb this fee for customers, so after July 1, 2011, paying your account using Utility Billing on-line will be free.
However, if you choose, you may contact the utility office at 503.992.3221, and they will process the online payment for you. There will be a $3.00 Convenience Fee for Telephone Payment Execution charged at the time the payment is processed when the utility office processes the payment on your behalf.
To use the online service, first go to Forest Grove’s home page at www.forestgrove-or.gov. Once there, click the “I Want To” button on the right, and a drop down menu will appear. From the drop down menu, select “Pay for,” and then “Utility Bill Online.”
The first time you use this site, you will need to create a user and attach your utility account to your user. It may be handy to have your most recent utility bill available because you will need information from it to set up your account. Another hint is to have your e-mail account open, because once you create a user, a password will be e-mailed to you.
Information about your utility account that you will be able to review includes the current amount due, any past due amounts, two years electric and water consumption history, and up to 10 years of historical transaction information. You may also choose to pay the amount due with your VISA or MasterCard. Using the internet, you can pay a part of your bill if you like, but you cannot pay more than you owe.
